To reach the territory of the Grand Site du Cirque de Navacelles, we suggest a few discovery trails : between the gorges of the Hérault, the gorges of the Arre and the gorges of the Vis and the vast stretches of the three Causses of the Larzac, of Blandas and of Campestre-et-le-Luc. Through these different itineraries, you can discover the cultural heritage of agropastoralism, its landscapes, the exceptional biodiversity (wildlife and plants), the megaliths (dolmens, cromlechs, menhirs…).
Beware : the Grand Site is situated in a mountainous zone, so remember to wear good walking shoes, and to always carry water, sun cream, a cap or sun hat, and to have a map handy. See the page : « Walks and activities in the countryside » https://www.cirquenavacelles.com/discovery/hiking-and-outdoor-activities/
The water of the Vis is around 14 degrees celcius in the summer, so don’t jump straight in ! Protect small children.
On foot
Different paths cross the territory of the Grand Site, particularly the GR7 and the chemin de Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert.
There is more than one possibility to access the hamlet of Navacelles from the belvederes or from the villages of Saint-Maurice-Navacelles and Blandas :
Starting from the Blandas belvedere, there are three walks that last between one and three hours (outward journey).
Starting from the Baume Auriol belvedere, there is one track one hour long (outward journey).
Leaving Vissec, there is a botanic walk that goes above the Foux mills and takes three hours (outward journey).
Leaving Saint-Maurice-Navacelles, there is a track (GR7), which takes three hours on the outward journey.
